Liner Notes, Credits, Other Details
Having now set up his own label and imprint, Magnificent 7, and joined forces with BBE, that problem is finally being remedied as BBE and Magnificent 7 are proud to announce the release of the 2005 version of this classic album under the title: The Sound of One Hand Clapping - Version 2.5. It comes with all new packaging, hard to get classics such as “B-Boy Anthem”, as well as previously unreleased material like the Rodney P featured “Consider”. Dobie is currently working on a brand new album that is due to be released autumn 2005. Track listing – 01. Connectivity feat. Roots Manuva (The Hidden Mix) [An epic slice of moody hip hop, with Roots Manuva spitting rhymes of biblical proportions over pulsing kicks, bass lines and fierce rim shots] / 02. Consider feat. Rodney P [A previously unavailable breezy head-nodder of a track] / 03. The Ride feat. Lain Gray [Lain of Wookie fame joins for this funk-tinged groove released at the end of 2003] / 04. Radox feat. Ninety 9 [Swinging 3/4 time hip hop with Stateside rapper Ninety-9 rhyming, scatting and singing over faraway brass and strings that pluck the good vibes from life] / 05. Love Song feat. Helena Paul [Helena pours out a lover’s intent with sweetness and purity on this heartfelt cover. Dobie underpins her voice with the simple melody of an acoustic guitar and spacious, head-nodding beats] / 06. Coming Up For Air feat. Rassia [A mesmeric blend of sun-kissed vocals with slow and low production - a string-laden downbeat ballad to revive the spirit. If this does not touch your soul, nothing else will] / 07. B-Boy Anthem (Instrumental) [Classic material, taken from the much sought after B-Boy Anthem EP on Pussyfoot Records. The definitive hip-hop mash-up] / 08. Love & Hate feat. Rodney P & Don-E [Finds Rodney P kicking it in a roughneck style over spartan breaks and eerie chords while soul boy Don-E gives the chorus plenty of rootsical flavour] / 09. Way Over (Instrumental) [A sublime instrumental, a beat-less excursion] /10. B-Boy Anthem Part II (Instrumental) [Part 2 of the now classic “B-Boy Anthem”. Dobie gives it a thorough make over] / 11. Cloud 98 3/4 feat. Ninety 9 [Dobie lays down an emotive Rhodes groove as Ninety-9 melts her lyrics like a hot knife through butter].
