Kelp Records Celebrates 10 Years

This spring marks the 10th Anniversary of Kelp Records, and we are in the process of planning a couple of events to help celebrate. Kelp will blow out candles in two of its three homes from the past decade – Toronto (March 5) and Ottawa (April 30th & May 1st) – and a metric ton of bands will kick out the jams in the process. Kelp bands will put on a 10th Anniversary Showcase on Friday March 5th at Healey's (178 Bathurst @ Queen) in Toronto as part of Canadian Music Week. The lineup card for that event looks like this:

Kelp Records 10th Anniversary CMW Showcase
Friday March 5th, 8pm
Healey's (178 Bathurst @ Queen), Toronto, ON
9pm Chris Page
10PM Greenfield Main
11pm Detective Kalita
12am Andrew Vincent & the Pirates
1am Recoilers

JUST ANNOUNCED: Detective Kalita and Andrew Vincent and the Pirates will play an in-store performance at Soundscapes (572 College St., Toronto's best and friendliest record shop) as a precursor to their CMW performances on Friday March 5th. Be there at 4PM sharp to catch the boys in action!

As for Ottawa, we are not quite confirmed on all the events, but I can tell you that the festivities will cover two days. On the Friday night (April 30th), we are planning a night of beats, rock and painting at Zibibbo (495 Somerset W.). Performances will include Proffessor Undressor's first foray into the Capital, along with The Acorn, AV & CiV, and others. On Saturday May 1st, we will move the party to Barrymore's Music Hall (323 Bank St.) for a night of rock and roll. Chris Page, Rhume, Andrew Vincent & the Pirates, Detective Kalita and Recoilers are all scheduled to hit the big stage and soil the masses. More bands and details will be announced soon, so keep watching for news...
